Abstract

This paper critically examines the role of epic literature, specifically the Mahābhārata and Rāmāyaṇa, as a source of Bhartiya cultural history. It addresses the widespread inconsistencies in the dating of these epics, critiquing the lack of scientific rigor and logical consistency in previous research. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the author proposes precise dates for these events—5561 BCE for the Mahābhārata war and 12209 BCE for the Rāma-Rāvaṇa Yuddha—supported by empirical testing, astronomy, and corroborative evidence from various scientific disciplines.
