Jn͂āna -Vijn͂āna in Mahābhārata

Abstract

Our Vedas seem to echo with elemental sublimity and advance status in comparison to modern science. Modern Science depends upon electric power while Vedic science, on Prāṇa Sakti ́ and more we get 
advancement in science, more we will be sensitized for our mythologies. Bhārata has innumerable reasons to be bestowed with the title of Viśvaguru in ancient times; we have the oldest grammar book by 
Maharshi Pāṇini, the oldest dictionary of Synonyms by Amarasim͘ha, the oldest sex manual by Vātsyāyana, oldest language Sanskrit, largest story book by Somadeva, and world’s largest epic Mahābhārata by Vyāsa etc. The present paper is a modest attempt to unravel some mysteries regarding Mahābhārata, the longest epic in reference to the advance status of science. Through Jn͂āna -Vijn͂āna complete image of ‘Bhagvān’ is achieved and it seems that Maharshi Veda Vyāsa intends to reflect the 
scientific development of that time while narrating various episodes of Mahābhārata unlocking through the mystery of supernatural aspects and incidents like virāṭ swarūpa of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Alaukika or superhuman status of Gandhāri, Kuntī, Arjuna, Bhīma, Karṇa, Ghaṭotkaca, Abhimanyu, Draupadī and so on. Actually, due to the advancement in medical sciences everything is possible. In the present scenario, If we think in the background of surrogacy artificial insemination (Test Tube Babies), Cloning (as we saw in Raktabīja demon story) stem cell techniques, organ transplantation, major surgeries or operations etc., Alaukika really seems Laukika.
